  In a word...

MVE is what one could call a “new generation” band. They “met” on MP3 in 2001 and never elsewhere since that time.

The band is Christy Brewster from Scotland and Paolo Miceli from Italy. He plays silky, hypnotic guitars, she has a mesmerizing voice, and together they bring MVE’s atmospheric dark pop close to Cocteau Twins or to Seefeel for the precision, the subtlety of multiple melancholic voices entwined with delicate chords.

So how can they have only met through the web and sound so intensively seductive? Here lie all the magic, the mystery, and the essence of MVE. Paolo’s tortuous loops are balanced with Christy’s floating vocals: he’s the captain of a drifting vessel trying to find a way back home, she’s the siren leading him to uncertain shores.

Featuring six new songs and a reworking of previously released materials, Carried along by Fate, the first brilliant, poetic and intense opus by MVE is now out on the French indie Label Ocean-Music. They will be on tour in Italy from February 23rd to March06th 2004

Brief songs like short and snappy stories, ranging from experimental guitar pop to sweet mesmerising melodies. And the mystery is never unveiled…

The first track on the album is like a warning: Christy’s vocalizes on reversed chant and forces us to prudence as we enter a zone of ethereal but dangerous beauty.

Paolo’s darkness need Christy’s voice like a light; Ching Tree starts like a Cocteau Twins from ’92 but the end is intriguing, almost heavy and the hushed vocals leave you suffocating. Maybe the siren is closer to Medusa…

Plim is the pop song, measured for dancing, franticly over an icy fire.

Half way between waking and sleeping MVE is nurtured by duality and their grace come from their indecision between sadness or joy.
